Senior Power BI Developer

Our client is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to join their business intelligence team on a contract basis. In this role, you will design and deliver polished, executive-facing dashboards and reports that translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable visualizations. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and work alongside an established data engineering team to drive meaningful reporting outcomes.

What you'll do

• Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports that meet the needs of business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Create executive-level visualizations with a strong emphasis on visual design, usability, and professional presentation.
• Gather and analyze reporting requirements from business users and translate them into effective, scalable BI solutions.
• Apply best practices in dashboard aesthetics, including layout, formatting, color selection, alignment, and use of borders and visual hierarchy.
• Consume and work with curated datasets prepared by the data engineering team to build reliable, accurate reporting solutions.
• Partner with business users on an ongoing basis to refine, enhance, and expand reporting and visualization capabilities.
• Support ad hoc reporting requests and contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization's BI reporting standards.

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports in a professional environment.
• Strong ability to design visually polished, executive-facing reports with attention to layout, formatting, and overall aesthetics.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into well-structured, user-friendly visualizations.
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and the ability to work effectively with pre-built or curated datasets.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining clear communication with business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data engineering or data warehouse teams.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 reporting is a plus but not required.
