HRIS Analyst (Workday)

Our client is seeking a permanent HRIS Analyst to join a small, collaborative HR technology team in St. Louis, MO. This role sits at the intersection of Workday system administration and people analytics, supporting core HR processes while driving data-informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate brings both hands-on Workday experience and a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to translate HR data into meaningful insights for stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Support the administration, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the Workday HCM platform.
• Develop and maintain HR reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support workforce analytics.
• Partner with HR process and governance team members to ensure data integrity and system accuracy.
• Analyze HR data using tools such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI to answer business questions and surface trends.
• Respond to ad hoc data requests from HR and business stakeholders, framing findings clearly and concisely.
• Contribute to HRIS projects including process improvements, system updates, and new feature rollouts.
• Navigate a corporate environment effectively, balancing technical work with cross-functional collaboration.

What we're looking for

• Prior experience working with Workday HCM in a corporate environment is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated analytical mindset with the ability to ask strong questions and answer them with data.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with SQL and Power BI or comparable reporting tools.
• Some years of professional experience in an HRIS, HR analytics, or related corporate role; internship-level experience alone is not sufficient.
• Ability to work independently within a small team where members balance both process and analytical responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present data findings to non-technical audiences.
• Must be local to the St. Louis, MO area or willing to relocate; the role requires two days per week on-site.
