D365 Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric & Power BI)
WorQFlow Solutions is seeking an experienced D365 Data Engineer for a contract engagement supporting the data and reporting modernization efforts of an enterprise organization. This role is focused on evaluating and redesigning the existing analytics architecture built on top of Microsoft Dynamics 365, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping data strategy, establishing best practices, and delivering actionable reporting solutions grounded in D365 data structures.
What you'll do
- Assess the current Azure Databricks-based analytics layer and provide architectural recommendations, including evaluation of migration or decommission paths
- Design and implement a scalable reporting architecture leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
- Develop Power BI reports and dashboards that surface meaningful insights from D365 data
- Perform data modeling work aligned to D365 Finance and Operations data structures and entities
- Establish and document best practices for data architecture, analytics governance, and report development
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective data and reporting solutions
- Ensure the integrity and consistency of data flowing from D365 into the reporting layer
What we're looking for
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, including familiarity with its underlying data structures
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI report and dashboard development
- Experience with Azure data services, including Azure Databricks or comparable cloud-based analytics platforms
- Solid understanding of enterprise data modeling and reporting architecture principles
- Ability to evaluate existing analytics environments and recommend strategic improvements
- Experience working in offshore or remote delivery models within enterprise engagements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to document solutions and present recommendations clearly
