AI Platform Engineer
Our client is seeking a contract AI Platform Engineer to design, build, and support a modern AI platform ecosystem spanning Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure AI services, Databricks, and AI agent solutions. This is a hands-on role focused on moving ideas quickly from concept to production, with direct involvement in platform architecture, framework development, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings deep cloud and platform engineering experience alongside practical knowledge of agentic AI and orchestration patterns.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain MCP server frameworks and broader AI platform infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability in production environments
- Administer and manage the Azure ecosystem, including platform governance, access controls, and integration pipelines
- Develop and support AI agent solutions with a focus on agentic AI orchestration and evaluation frameworks
- Integrate Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio capabilities into the organization's AI platform
- Collaborate with cloud and data engineering teams to align platform architecture with organizational priorities
- Work alongside governance stakeholders to review and fulfill platform compliance checklists and standards
- Manage GitHub repositories and enforce DevOps and MLOps best practices across the platform
What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience in cloud, platform, AI, or data engineering with a strong Azure and Microsoft AI technology background
- Demonstrated ability to build and operate MCP server frameworks or similar AI platform infrastructure
- Experience with Databricks for data and AI workloads
- Practical knowledge of agentic AI concepts, including orchestration, evaluation frameworks, and multi-agent patterns
- Proficiency with API integrations, automation pipelines, and DevOps or MLOps workflows
- Experience deploying and supporting AI solutions in production environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across technical and business teams in a fast-moving environment
